I was back in Gruyère, Switzerland yesterday, home of the HR Giger Museum. Four years after the artist’s death, I am stunned to see how his work is one of a visionary. Just as I’m stunned by his gift of opening the doors of his home in Œrlikon to me. To penetrate the intimate universe of the creator of Alien is to embark on a voyage after which one is forever changed. One day, I’ll gather my photographs and recount this fantastic adventure.
Je suis repassé hier par Gruyère, en Suisse, où se trouve le Musée HR Giger. Quatre ans après la mort de l’artiste, je mesure à quel point son œuvre était visionnaire. Tout comme je mesure la valeur du cadeau qu’il me fit en m’ouvrant les portes de sa maison d’Œrlikon. Pénétrer l’univers intime du créateur d’Alien constitue un voyage dont on ne se remet pas. Un jour, je rassemblerai ces photographies et vous raconterai cette aventure fantastique.
