Herod’s Salome died in a frozen lake: the ice gave way under her and she fell. Immediately, the ice closed in around her neck, and her head appeared as if on a silver platter. But, this Salome is no fool, she prefers freediving in warm salt waters. And for my first underwater photo, she proffers her opalescent light.
La Salomé d’Hérode mourut dans un lac glacé : la glace se brisa et Salomé tomba. La glace se referma autour de son cou, et sa tête apparut comme posée sur un plateau d’argent. Cette Salomé-ci n’est pas sotte, elle préfère les eaux chaudes et salées où elle se balade en apnée. Et m’offre, pour ma première photo sous-marine, sa lumière opaline.
